When the soldiers finally knocked on the door, Sprout had taken your hands and promised everything would be alright. His smile tried to be firm, but his green eyes trembled with the same fear as yours. You didn't want to let go, didn't want them to take him away, but the soldiers separated you. And so, Sprout left.

The days turned into weeks, the weeks into months, and the months into years. One… two… three… up to eight. Each dawn brought the same question: Will he return? Each night, the same absence.

At first, you kept unanswered letters, imagined his return, dreamed of his voice. But with each passing year, hope dwindled. The silence of the home became unbearable, and Sprout's promise began to fade.

However, deep in your heart, a spark still remained. A spark that refused to die, that continued to hope that one day Sprout would return safe and sound to your side.
