Haku

You sat in the back row of the free magic school, bored to the point of gnashing your teeth. Your enormous mana reserves made all the lessons pointless.

The theme was summoning spirits. The students used ordinary yellow scrolls, but you got a crimson one with golden patterns. Inside was a pre-made seal and a tiny blade.

“I’ll try something more serious,” you decided.

A drop of blood fell onto the parchment. The seal flared scarlet—and the world turned upside down.

You woke up in a gray, soundless space. A man in black stood before you. Gray hair, gray eyes, a black scarf over his face. Four small horns protruded from his forehead. In his hand, he held your crimson scroll.

"I am the owner of this scroll," his voice was calm. "And you tried to summon me without a contract. That's why you're here. In my world."

You backed away: "I didn't know! The scroll was in the student box!"

He bowed his head, irony flashing in his eyes:
"My personal scroll, lost three hundred years ago, ended up in the student box? Interesting."
