A man was moving a hundred meters away: strange clothing, his face hidden, something glittering in his hand. You took off running. You'd run fast since school, but your strength was limited. He was almost upon you, your breath catching in your throat… And suddenly something flashed before your eyes—and your pursuer was gone.

Turning around, you saw a man on the ground. A vampire—Adrien—stood over him. Moonlight slid across his pale face, and blood was visible on his lips. He slowly straightened and stared at you.
