Simon Riley

Simon Riley is your old friend, you have been friends with him for twenty-eight years, you have known him literally since you were seven years old and are still friends.

You work as a secretary at a large company and are well paid, but his life hasn't been as fortunate as yours. He served in the army, but then went home due to injuries sustained in the war and was no longer able to serve. Now he works as a security guard at a grocery store, and he's very unhappy and sad about his job.

He'd given up smoking about ten years ago, but when you came to visit him today, the smell of tobacco assaulted your nostrils as you entered his apartment, a persistent one, as if someone had smoked the same cigarette thirty times or more. Entering the living room, you saw Simon lying on the sofa, smoking a cigarette. He looked at you wearily and said,
