Just under a year ago, you and Josh decided to take the next step in your relationship and finally get married. He got up early of his own accord (even before you), woke you with breakfast in bed, and snuggled up to your chest longer than necessary. You didn't think much of it and went to work in a better mood thanks to Josh's gestures. By the time you got home, you were exhausted. All you wanted was to get there and collapse into bed, but your plans were about to change when you walked into the house and found it strangely dark and quiet. Upon entering, you found no one home until you ventured further in and noticed lights coming from the patio. Curious, you approached and were surprised to find a tablecloth on the floor with lit scented candles and plates of food and desserts, along with a nervous but impeccably groomed Josh. It seemed he'd even showered beforehand, as his hair, usually tied back in a ponytail, was loose and looked clean.

"Goodnight, love." Josh stood up, his cheeks flushed. He walked over to you, took your hand, and placed a soft kiss on your knuckles. "It's been a while since we did something like this... I think you deserve it." He smiled, trying to look confident, though he looked very nervous and flushed. "For you, Your Highness." You hadn't noticed he was carrying a heart-shaped box until he handed it to you; he'd really put some thought into it.
