Riptide Pirates

Pretzel is Gillion Tidestrider's pet frogtopus and best friend. Pretzel is a pink frogtopus with 4 short tentacles. She is described as very cute. She resides in a small glass bubble filled with water attached to a strap on Gillion's hip.

Mana is the name of the world where the Riptide Pirates are sailing around. There are many places to explore both on land and under the waves. It is primarily split into four seas, separated by large lines of land mass between, and each filled with many islands. Where these lines meet on one side is Allport, and the other side is too dangerous to have been clearly charted.

The Undersea is the world found in the depths of Mana's oceans. Inhabited by many sea folks (tritons, mermaids, water genasis, grungs, sea elves...) as well as varied ocean creatures, it is a society of its own, following its own laws and values. They worship the Leviathans as minor gods, and Lunadeyis as their main goddess.

The ocean of Mana is separated on 4 seas: Black Sea, the waters are black and extremely difficult to see through. This sea was formerly known as the Sakura Ocean and had pink-hued waters... Viridis Sea, the Northern Sea is described to have emerald green water and rapidly shifting weather. Blue Royale Ocean, the Southern Sea is described to have deep blue waters... And "Horsea" sea (WIP).

Chip and Jay Ferin were the first to meet and form their own little crew together. Chip was on the constant move, partly trying to find a crew, partly just exploring the world, and partly trying to find his lost father-figure Arlin James and his childhood crew, the Black Rose Pirates. He eventually met Jay Ferin, who was a Navy sailor and a worker at her mother's tavern. They became quick friends and after convincing her to leave behind her old life behind, Chip and Jay escaped together to sail the seas. One day while on the water, they stumbled across Gillion Tidestrider, a curious triton hero who was floating through the waves with no aim in sight. Chip persuaded Gillion to climb onboard, and with the grab of a hand signified the start of a very chaotic pirate crew.

Gillion Tidestrider is a triton with blue-green skin with light markings and chin length, dark seaweed green hair with lighter green highlights. On the top of his head is a crown of blue coral that sprouts from his head. He has fin-like ears that point out of his hair. Usually, he is seen wearing dark armor over a dark sleeveless turtleneck and baggy pants; his arms are exposed, and he is often barefoot. On his hip, he has a bubble of water that carries his pet Pretzel, a frogtopus that he adores and trusts deeply.

When using his paladin magic, such as his smite, his eyes glow a light blue and his hair and coral crackles with lightning-like energy.

After the Loffinlot Arc, a crescent moon tattoo with the initials "NK" below it appears on his wrist due to a deal made with the "Wish Doctor," Niklaus Hendrix. Wears a bit of Grimm's cloak as a trophy.

He is 5'9" tall (5'1" when no one is looking)

Gillion is a strong and courageous man who throws himself into danger with no hesitation. He has no qualms with being hurt (and almost seems to encourage it), and he loves to fight, seeming to revel in the violence at times. When fighting, he tends to get overly excited or become somewhat wild. At times, he is oddly eager to have violence inflicted back on him, such as suggesting to others to be hit in retaliation on more than one occasion. While circumstantially, such as when he and the other Riptide Pirates are fighting an enemy or monster, this comes from a place of wanting to protect others, it also comes off masochistic at times.

Chip is a 19-year old male human rogue standing at 5'10", with short brown hair framing his slightly chiseled (and slightly smudged and dirty) face. He wears a puffy, white, open-collared shirt that is described as considerably fancy but evidently worn. Over his shoulders are a set of suspenders that attach to dark gray pinstripe trousers. On his left ear he wears a single golden axe earring and, after the events of the Loffinlot Arc so gains a scar that runs up his left cheek. He also has a few chipped teeth after biting into a sand dollar. Chip is a skilled rogue, well-equipped for stealth and persuasion.

Chip possesses limited magical capabilities, only being able to cast Firebolt and Burning Hands. However, he uses a variety of magical items to bolster his combative actions, such as the Black and Crimson Blades, or his Pirate Bandana of Disguise.

Jay Ferin is a young woman standing at a height of 5'7". She has pale skin, blue eyes. She has long reddish-orange hair that is often seen half-up in a ponytail. A piece of her bangs is pinned back with a small gold and black pin with the crest of an eagle flying over a sunset. She wears a dark blue cropped jacket with white fur lining the collar. Underneath her jacket is a sleeveless shirt with a high, ruffled collar and pleated lace running down the middle of it. She wears tan, high-waisted flared pants that are seamed with large stitches along the sides and has two belts around her waist. As well as that, she wears dark blue ankle-high boots that have a small zipper on the back and wears black fingerless gloves.

Jay Ferin is an intelligent and fiercely loyal co-captain and navigator of the Riptide Pirates. She is often the voice of reason between her other co-captains when necessary, but when there's not a serious danger at hand, she will egg on Chip and Gillion's antics or engage in her own plan. Jay takes heavy responsibility for her crew and their well-being, and in combat, does not get distracted easily while fighting, often carefully considering her options and potential consequences before acting.

Jay is an unconditionally loving and loyal person with a high value of family, both biological and chosen. She is incredibly dedicated to her crew with no hesitation, however her biological family- specifically the Ferin's- bring her a great deal of internal conflict. Growing up, her father had been against her ever being a member of R.A.F.T., but after the death of her sister, Ava Ferin, she had personally requested to become a spy to discover who had killed them, and despite no longer being a member of the Navy, she is against killing any soldier, as she does not want to risk making anyone feel the way she did after her sister's passing. Jay also has a friend, Kira, who is currently a Captain in R.A.F.T.
