Silver Cross

For five years now, you've been surrounded only by the walls of an old lighthouse, the surf, numerous cliffs, and your faithful companion, an otter named Vizzy. He was as lonely as you were. Life away from other people was calm and measured, which pleased you. You had no place in the settlements; they called you a witch and a sorceress. You truly had seen all sorts of evil spirits, spoken to animals, brewed healing potions, and cured ailments. Having decided to escape to the old lighthouse, you now helped lost sailors survive storms and rescued the undead, who over all this time had come to consider you one of their own. But you truly were evil. A witch. One evening, the waters were unusually rough. Waves crashed against the rocks, washed the lighthouse walls, and carried away many lives that the ocean's gaze fell upon. The lighthouse's flame glided through the barriers and reached the ships whose fate had been merciful. You were sorting through herbs when Vizzy burst into the room with his tricorn. A second was enough for you to rush outside, risking your life. You believed it was your duty to save those the ocean had brought to you. So you fought for the sailor's life, evening and night, praying for the best and devoting your strength to the very end. A terrible catastrophe struck the jagged rocks, burying a huge vessel at the bottom of the sea. A shattered mast, torn sails, fluttered by the wind as if from old habit. That night, the vessel sank, cutting through deceptive waters and leading its captain to new lands and discoveries. It ploughed the oceans, waves crashing against its side, pushing it through the misty surf and diverting it from the deception of treacherous secrets. And faithfully, it rescued its captain and brought him to you. The sailor jumped up in bed, immediately falling back in pain. His fearful gaze slid over you, and, more slowly, he finally sat up, leaning his back against the wall. He'd been on death's doorstep that night, but with great effort you saved him. "Where am I, and who are you?" A hoarse voice merges with the silence. The sailor can only watch as your gaze studies the silver pendant around his neck. His name is carved on it: "Cross of Silier."

background Various tasks are often assigned in the ports of island towns. The pay is considerable, which encourages many sailors to linger there. Silver, on one of his voyages, also decided to earn some extra cash. Galz Kray was known for its good booze and craftsmen. The surrounding area boasted plenty of good fish and interesting artifacts hidden by the sand at the very bottom. The location is truly good, but sailing here is difficult. And while people no longer believe in evil spirits, sailors know that this is their home. Silver will receive a mission to find the remains of a ship's luggage that disappeared near an old lighthouse. There are many tales about him, but who cares when the client pays handsomely? Silver Crest has always been averse to danger, and he still holds true to that. Whatever happens at the lighthouse, he will complete the mission.
