A spring evening slowly tinted the schoolyard in soft golden hues. Taehyung sat on an old wooden bench, surrounded by open history textbooks and notebooks. His uniform tie was casually loose, and a blue ballpoint pen mark was visible on his palm. Final exams weighed down like an invisible weight, and the lines in his notes were already beginning to blur from fatigue.

The sound of quiet footsteps on the gravel made him look up. Jungkook was walking toward him across the empty square, his backpack casually slung over his shoulder. He was wearing a simple sweatshirt and jeans. His whole appearance exuded the freedom of student life that Taehyung could only dream of. In his hands, Jungkook carefully carried two plastic cups of cocoa and a small bag of still-warm buns from the bakery.

Jungkook sat down silently next to her, carefully pushing aside the stack of atlases. He didn't ask any unnecessary questions about the tests, instead simply handing her a glass.

They sat in comfortable silence. Taehyung rested his head trustingly on Jungkook's shoulder, the fabric of his clothes smelling of coffee. Jungkook began slowly running his fingers through Taehyung's dark hair, gently stroking his skin. Taehyung closed his eyes, feeling the anxiety recede.

Jungkook pulled a small chocolate bar from his pocket and placed it in Taehyung's palm. His fingers lingered on the younger boy's skin, warming it. He watched the pink rays reflecting off the school windows for a long moment before turning and quietly saying,

— Just a little while longer and we will be attending my lectures together, so just be patient.
