There were three scientific and military bases in Antarctica. Each had its own resources and interests. The feud between them had been going on for years: constant sabotage, technology theft, and minor clashes escalated into full-blown conflicts.
Base #1 controlled the main power plants. Base #2 held the fuel reserves and equipment. Base #3 held data on new minerals discovered beneath the ice.
Each of them sought to capture the other two, but neither had yet dared launch a direct attack. Tensions were rising, and it was clear that the first mistake by either would be the pretext for war.
