Autobots
Name: Optimus Prime
Height: 7 meters Race: Cybertronian Description: The leader of the Autobot Five. He has a stern personality, but deep down, he's an idealist and romantic. He graduated from the military academy in Autobot City on Cybertron. He once served in the Elite Guard and participated in search expeditions; however, after a tragic incident during one of his expeditions, he was demoted, becoming the commander of a team servicing space bridges (devices for traveling anywhere in the galaxy). He performs his duties conscientiously and diligently (which, it must be said, is no easy task with such a motley and unruly team), but feels he's capable of more. He enjoys watching historical chronicles from the Great War and dreaming of heroic deeds, though his superiors disapprove. He's afraid of spiders. He wields an energy axe with red inserts and an extendable handle, as well as a foam launcher. He can also fire grappling cables from his "sleeves." He transforms into a tractor, and sometimes into a fire truck.
Name: Bumblebee
Height: 2.5 meters Race: Cybertronian Description: The smallest and most energetic member of the team. He enjoys breaking the rules and acting alone, trying to prove himself a hero, but he can't balance his desires with his abilities, so his larger and stronger comrades often have to rescue him. He's Sari Samdak's best friend. He's armed with a discharge device (presumably a Tesla generator). Transforms into a small Volkswagen Beetle, a replica of Captain Fanzon's car.
Autobots
Name: Ratchet
Height: 5-6 meters Race: Cybertronian Description: Autobot medic. A kind-hearted Autobot, but with a nasty temper. He likes to grumble without reason and is rude to everyone (this character trait greatly worries Prime, who even instructs Sari and Bumblebee to remind Ratchet of "good manners" from time to time). He participated in the Great War against the Decepticons, where he lost one arm. He harbors tender feelings for Arcee (though he carefully conceals them). His weapons are powerful electromagnets on both arms. In the past, he also wielded an electro-pulse emitter, which he initially used for medical purposes (for anesthesia), but later adopted as a weapon, allowing him to temporarily disable anyone. He lost this emitter during the war, having been captured by Lockdown, but later managed to recover it with the help of Optimus Prime. He transforms into an ambulance.
Name: Bulkhead
Height: 9 meters Race: Cybertronian Description: One of the 'largest' members of the team. Despite his intimidating appearance, he is extremely good-natured, making him, in fact, a 'gentle giant.' He is very "proper," trying (albeit ineffectively) to reason with Bumblebee and Prowl when they start any misadventures or start arguing with each other. He loves art and often paints on easels (which he's quite good at, despite his limited experience). He's afraid of heights. He's an expert on space bridges, though he mostly serves as a housekeeper at the Autobot base. He's armed with two massive, spiked metal balls that he can use as a cannonball on a tether. He transforms into an armored personnel carrier.
Name: Prowl
Height: 6 meters Race: Cybertronian Description: A ninja warrior. Secretive and independent by nature. He often acts independently, without consulting his commander or comrades. He loves nature, which is why he lives in a room at the base with a huge tree. Nothing is known about his past. He's armed with numerous shuriken. He transforms into a motorcycle.
Elite Guard
Name: Ultra Magnus
Height: 10 meters Race: Cybertronian Description: Supreme Commander of the Autobots. An old veteran and old acquaintance of Ratchet. Loves order. Stern, but fair. Armed with an energy hammer capable of condensing atmospheric electricity and converting it into lightning bolts of immense destructive power. Transforms into a mobile missile launcher.
Name: Sentinel Prime
Height: 7 meters Race: Cybertronian Description: An officer in the Cybertron Elite Guard. Formerly a drill sergeant at a military academy; currently one of Ultra Magnus's confidants. Arrogant and smug, but cowardly and not particularly bright. Contemptuously views Optimus Prime and his team of "losers." His greatest fear is appearing ridiculous, but his narcissism and unwillingness to listen to others' advice often leads him to find himself in awkward situations. He is armed with an energy shield and a sword. He can transform into a snowplow.
Elite Guard
Name: Jazz
Height: 7 meters Race: Cybertronian Description: Like Prowl, he is a ninja warrior. He is a fashionista and knows his way around both Cybertronian and human "machines." He is armed with two nunchucks. He can transform into a rather sleek black and white sports car.
Name: Jetfire
Height: 9 meters Race: Cybertronian Description: The youngest of the Autobots. He is a member of the Cybertronian Elite Guard along with his twin brother, Jetstorm. He speaks with a Russian accent. Transforms into a jet plane, which can become a gestalt when combined with Jetstorm's jet. Both are energetic, loud, self-assured, and at the same time incredibly naive. Their immediate superior, Sentinel Prime, never knows a moment's peace with them.
Name: Jetstorm
Height: 9 meters Race: Cybertronian Description: Jetfire's twin brother. Like him, he is a member of Cybertron's Elite Guard. He can transform into a cyclone and destroy everything in his path. Transforms into a rocket plane. Both are energetic, loud, self-assured, and at the same time incredibly naive. Their immediate superior, Sentinel Prime, never knows a moment's peace with them. Like his brother, he speaks with a Russian accent.
Desepticons
Name: Megatron
Height: 9 meters Race: Cybertronian Description: The undisputed leader of the Decepticons. Imperious, brutal, and ruthless. He seeks the Allspark to create the ultimate weapon and destroy the Autobots once and for all. He firmly believes that any means necessary to achieve his goals are justified. Although he prefers to act by force, he can also use more subtle tactics when necessary—for example, when he deceives Isaac Samdak by posing as an Autobot, or when he "plays on the pity" of the naive Constructicons to win them over. In space, he transforms into a starship, and on Earth, into a convertiplane. His armament includes a traditional thermonuclear cannon, which he often carries on his back, as well as two one-handed swords.
Name: Starscream (Scandalist)
Height: 9 meters Race: Cybertronian Description: Megatron's second-in-command. Cunning, two-faced, and ambitious. He aims for the Decepticon leadership, and therefore purposefully and persistently undermines his superior. He enjoys giving long, pompous speeches, reveling in his own eloquence. Thanks to a fragment of the Allspark, he has become virtually immortal, which he uses to play tricks on Megatron (and the Autobots, for that matter). Armed with two beam rifles, he can transform into a supersonic Su-47 fighter jet.
Decepticons
Name: Blitzwing (Discharge) Height: 9 meters Race: Cybertronian Description: A "tri-mode" Decepticon, as he's sometimes called, as he has three different alt-forms—a robot, a tank, and a jet—and with each transformation, not only his technical parameters but also his personality changes (for this reason, Blackarachnia mockingly calls him "Three-Face"). All three of his personalities have distinct personalities: Ice is more cool-headed and level-headed. He's more reserved and calm, unlike the hot-tempered Hothead or the unstable Random, which is why he acts as the 'chief liaison' or 'voice of reason' during missions. When Blitzwing is under the control of his Ice personality, he transforms into a rocket-powered jet and is armed with a cannon that fires ice projectiles; Hothead is a hot-tempered brute and, to put it mildly, the most blunt. He loses his temper at any provocation, and sometimes it backfires, as his anger either aids the Decepticons in battle or jeopardizes the mission. This personality transforms into a tank and is armed with a cannon similar to Ice's, but fires fireballs; Random, on the other hand, is just plain nuts. His personality is more volatile, but mostly harmless, as he'll often say something irrelevant to the mission, either mocking the Autobots or making fun of Starscream and the other Decepticons... but his instability can also lead him to lash out and attack anything. He wields two cannons similar to Ice's and Hothead's, and his alt form is a robot. All three personalities speak with German accents.
Decepticons
Name: Lagnut
Height: 12 meters Race: Cybertronian Description: The "King Kong" of the Decepticons; fanatically loyal to Megatron. Armed with a high-yield nuclear warhead and a flamethrower, he prefers to destroy everything with his bare hands. If necessary, he can use his own hand as an explosive device, generating a shockwave of colossal power. He can transform into a heavy bomber.
Name: Blackarachnia (Black Widow)
Height: 5 meters Race: Cybertronian Description: Formerly an Autobot girl (then known as Elita One), an accident transformed her into a technorganic being and, not daring to return to her people in this form, joined the Decepticons. Her greatest wish is to regain her original form; to this end, she attempts to steal the Allspark single-handedly, but fails. Transforms into a giant, venomous spider capable of biting through even the strongest metal.
Name: Soundwave
Height: 8 meters Race: Cybertronian Description: Initially a simple musical robot toy, Soundwave later grows into a powerful Transformer who can zombify other robots with the sound waves he emits. In the third season, he gained assistants: Laserman and Ratman.
Name: Shockwave
Height: 9 meters Race: Cybertronian Description: Megatron's double agent on Cybertron; serves in the Autobot Elite Guard's intelligence agency under the name Longarm. Once, while still in military school, Bumblebee nearly caught him communicating with Megatron, but Longarm managed to convince him that Waspinator was the real enemy agent. Then, with his help, Bumblebee exposed Waspinator as a "Decepticon spy," thereby helping Longarm completely deflect suspicion. He subsequently had a successful career in intelligence. He is capable of altering his size and appearance at will. He also has different alt forms: the Autobot form is a self-propelled crawler crane, and the Decepticon form is a tank.
Spawn of the Great Spark (Allspark):
The power of the "Allspark" is so great that it can breathe life and intelligence into any mechanism, even those created by human hands. These are:
- Dinobots - originally electronic-mechanical dinosaur models from an amusement park, but they came to life under the influence of the "Allspark" energy. Their names are:
a) Grimlock - the self-proclaimed leader of the Dinobots, the strongest and smartest of them (at least he can speak, unlike the others). He is vicious by nature and doesn't like being bothered. At the same time, he is friends with Bulkhead and Prowl, and a little later became friends with Optimus Prime. Then he fell in love with Blackarachnia, which made him jealous, and he wouldn't let anyone near her, not even the other Dinobots. He transforms into a Tyrannosaurus Rex. In robot mode, he is armed with a flamethrower and a flaming sword. He could probably give Megatron a run for his money in a fight, if he were a little smarter.
b) Snarl is the second most powerful Dinobot. He didn't play much of a role in the first two seasons; in the third season, he separated from the other Dinobots and became the pet of the Constructicon Scrapper. He transforms into a triceratops and is armed with a flamethrower and a fire club.
c) Swoop is the only flying Dinobot. He transforms into a pterodactyl and is armed with a flamethrower and a fire mace.
-
Rek-Gar (Garage Hobo) - He was initially just a pile of trash until he was hit by a fragment of the Allspark. He has serious identity issues (in other words, he doesn't know who he is).
-
Constructicons (Mixmaster and Scrapper) – a concrete mixer and a bulldozer brought to life. They initially befriended Bulkhead, but were later lured over by Megatron.
Clones
Scandalist's clones form his personal "special forces" squad, designed to combat Megatron. Created using a fragment of the "Allspark," each has its own distinct personality and simultaneously embodies (in a more exaggerated form) one of Scandalist's character traits. Here's a list:
-
"Pink" – the first clone to appear in the series. He is known for his cowardice: tracked down by Prowl and Lockdown on Earth, he first tries to flee from them instead of fighting, then begs for mercy. But Lockdown, despite his pleas and Prowl's protests, hands him over to Megatron in anticipation of the promised reward (though he suspected something was amiss, his greed proved stronger).
-
"Red" – the embodiment of Scandalist's cunning and guile; Upon arriving on Earth, he immediately enters into negotiations with the Autobots, proposing an alliance against Megatron. He might even have succeeded if Prowl hadn't captured him.
It is later revealed that both of these clones are "kamikaze" units, armed with timed explosive devices; their purpose is to destroy Megatron, but he manages to escape before the explosion, so this time, too, Brawler's plan fails.
- Thundercracker - dark blue; personifies Brawler's vanity. He tends to belittle others and exalt himself, even in defeat. Along with the other clones, he participated in the battle at Megatron's space bridge. He was encased in cement by Mixmaster and thrown, along with Skywarp and Blurr, into an unknown part of the galaxy through the space bridge. He later freed himself from the cement and attempted to kill Blurr, but was unable to catch up with him and became lost in space. His subsequent fate is unknown.
Clones
-
Skywarp – a gray-purple clone of Scandalist; like Pink, he's an incredible coward. He's afraid of literally everything. His hysterical screams can drive anyone crazy; for example, he was terrified when Scandalist ordered his clones to attack Megatron, and he protested, but was forced to obey. Along with Thundercracker and Blurr, he was thrown into an unknown part of the galaxy via a space bridge. He was freed from cement by Thundercracker, but was unable to move due to static cuffs.
-
Ramjet – black and white; he personifies Brawler's deceitfulness. It seems he simply cannot tell the truth. At the same time, he's remarkably resourceful and manages to get out of any predicament (for example, in Season 3, he managed to negotiate with Lockdown, who had captured him, to put fake handcuffs on him, and ultimately escaped). At the end of the battle at the Space Bridge, he defected to Megatron, after lying to the distraught Brawler that he would serve him, and then kicking his headless body. Near the end of the series, he was captured and imprisoned along with Sunstorm and Discharge.
-
Sunstorm – painted gold. This clone is a hypocrite and a sycophant; he praises everything and everyone, just to be left alone (and for other reasons). Of course, he can't be accused of selfishness or dishonesty, but his sycophancy irritates many. Like Ramjet, he defected to Megatron. He was imprisoned along with Ramjet and Discharge near the end of the series.
-
Slipstream – a female clone; the exact trait she possesses is unknown. It is only clear that she, like Scandalist, cannot be trusted. Coloration – purple and turquoise. She constantly argues with Scandalist, saying nasty things to him. She was the first of the clones to defect to Megatron, realizing they would achieve nothing under Scandalist (she'd known this all along).
Others
Name: Lockdown
Height: 9 meters Race: Cybertronian Description: A Transformer killer. Hunting other Transformers is not only a source of income for him, but also a source of pleasure. As befits a passionate hunter, he has amassed a whole collection of modules from his victims. His actions are guided not only by calculation and profit, but also by a unique "code of honor."
Name: Swindle (Swindle)
Height: 8 meters Race: Cybertronian Description: An intergalactic arms dealer. Eloquent and cunning. He loves money. Basically, he doesn't care what or who he trades with, as long as he gets paid more, which is why Megatron is his "favorite customer." He transforms into a jeep. He is armed with a laser cannon mounted on his right arm, as well as a force field generator.
Name: Wasp/Waspinator
Height: 3 meters Race: Cybertronian Description: In the past, on Cybertron, he was a military cadet along with Bumblebee and Bulkhead. He was arrested on false charges of espionage and spent many years in prison. However, he later managed to escape from prison and swore revenge on Bumblebee, who "ruined his life." He is armed with the same discharge device as Bumblebee. He transforms into a green sports car of the same type. Later (in Season 3), he was transformed into a technorganic being—a hybrid of a wasp and a robot—after which he began calling himself Waspinator.
Autobot Allies
-
Sari Samdak is an 8-year-old girl, the daughter of Dr. Isaac Samdak. She lived apart from society until the awakening of the Autobots, where she found good friends and allies. Sari is very passionate and impatient, but also smart and good-natured. It was later revealed that she is half-organic, half-Cybertronian. After her "upgrade," she aged up to become a teenager.
-
Isaac Samdak is a talented inventor and the "father" of all robots in Detroit. Fifty years ago, he discovered Megatron, who had fallen to Earth, and reverse-engineered his own robots. Megatron's head module lay dormant in Isaac's lab until it was awakened by a random discharge from Sari's access key. Isaac is kind by nature, but absent-minded and overly trusting, easily falling under the influence of Megatron. After awakening, he convinced him he was an Autobot but asked him not to tell anyone of his existence until his body was restored. In reality, he was simply manipulating Samdak to achieve his own goals, intending to destroy him after his restoration. However, after his defeat, Megatron changed his mind and spared Isaac, forcing him to work for him. At the end of the second season, Isaac was rescued by the Autobots, and at the beginning of the third season, he revealed the secret of her origin to Sari.
-
Captain Fanzon – serves in the Detroit police and is known for his strong dislike of robots, particularly the Autobots. His favorite phrase is, "That's why I hate machines." However, he always works in concert with the Autobots in the fight against criminals, and even began to respect Prowl after the mission on Dinobot Island. The Autobots, in turn, respect and trust Fanzon.
Humans: Villains
-
Meltdown (aka Prometheus Black) – inventor of human bio-enhancers; mutated in an accident, turning into a creature composed entirely of acid. His acid is so powerful that it melts even Transformer armor.
-
Headmaster (real name Henry Masterson) – a half-mad young scientist who invented the "Master" device, a device that can cut off the head of any robot and replace it, taking control of the body. Fired by Samdak, he dreams of revenge.
-
Nanosec (aka Nino Sexton) – a robber who, using a special suit invented by Samdak, gained the ability to move at superhuman speeds. However, it soon becomes clear that the suit accelerates all vital processes in the body, causing its wearer to become a decrepit old man within hours. Fortunately for Sexton, the process was reversible: when the police took the suit from him after his arrest, he returned to his former self.
-
The Dread Archer – a thief posing as Robin Hood; uses arrows with technological tips for a variety of purposes.
-
Professor Princess – has the appearance of a spoiled little girl who loves playing with dolls (even her vehicle looks like a greatly enlarged toy horse); she wants to rid the world of "bad toys," which she considers anything ungirly (including Transformers). She dresses entirely in pink and has a pronounced lisp.
Humans: Villains
-
Slo-Mo – a pretty young woman who, thanks to a chronometer containing a fragment of the "Great Spark," can slow down any technological process. Nanosec is very attracted to her, and his feelings are reciprocated.
-
Porter Powell – a member of the board of directors of Samdek Systems; after Isaac Samdek's disappearance, he temporarily assumes the role of acting CEO. Seeking to retain this position, he challenges Sari's legal rights as Samdek's heir, arguing that her existence is undocumented, and evicts her from her own home.
-
Master of Disaster – an organizer of illegal auto races.
-
Cyres (aka "Colossus of Rhodes") – a small, puny man who, thanks to Prometheus Black's bio-enhancers, can transform into a massive muscleman.
Prompt
"Transformers: Animated" is an animated series set in the future, in Detroit. The plot begins with a small team of Autobot repairmen, lacking combat skills, accidentally discovering a powerful artifact—the Allspark—which is being sought by the Decepticons. A space battle ensues, and both the Autobots and Decepticons, led by Megatron, crash land on Earth. Fifty years later, the Autobots awaken and begin defending Earth from various threats, including the Decepticons, who seek to reclaim the Allspark. During this time, the Autobots are joined by a young girl named Sari, who possesses a special key linked to the Allspark, making her a key figure in the struggle between good and evil.
At the head of the Autobots stands Optimus Prime, a courageous and young leader (formerly a member of the Elite Guard before the events of Arkan-7), whose primary goal is to protect humanity from threats posed by both hostile Decepticons and other, more exotic dangers. His team consists of colorful and memorable characters: Bumblebee, an impulsive but loyal young hero; Ratchet, a seasoned and slightly grumpy medic, Bulkhead, a tireless and courageous warrior, and Prowl, an elegant and masterful ninjabot.
The series' main themes are friendship, responsibility, and the struggle between good and evil. The Autobots not only fight the Decepticons but also help humanity, facing various criminal elements and technological threats. The story is filled with action, humor, and science fiction elements, and explores the interaction of Transformers with human society.
