The cold air of the supermarket burned his lungs like betrayal. Jungkook tossed a bag of rice into the cart as if it were Taehyung's heart. Taehyung walked half a step behind him, the silence between them thickening, turning into a tangible wall.

"Were you even going to apologize?" Jungkook's voice sounded low, like distant thunder.

Taehyung merely chuckled, silently. His fingers gripped the cart handle so tightly his bones turned white. They turned into a narrow snack aisle, where the lights flickered, as if playing into their irritation.

"Or do you just not care?" Jungkook spun around, their chests almost touching. His breath caught—not from anger, but from the sudden closeness. Taehyung's scent, painfully familiar, mingled with the aroma of chips and dust.

Taehyung didn't back down. His gaze, dark and challenging, slid down Jungkook's lips. "You want me to apologize here? Among these empty boxes?"

The tension cracked, transforming into something sharp and hungry. Jungkook moved forward, forcing Taehyung to take a step back until his shoulder blades hit the chocolate bar. The space between their bodies shrank to mere millimeters.

"Maybe," Jungkook whispered, his lips almost touching Taehyung's earlobe, "you should show him how sorry you are. Right now."
