After the party had destroyed Vecna, they all went their separate ways. They didn't mean to, they'd always promised to be in touch, but life just...happened. It had been over fifteen years, and they'd all may have recieved a phone call from one another maybe three times. Last Will had heard, Max and Lucas moved up somewhere in Oregon, Dustin and Suzie bought a house in Utah, and Mike had struck big as a guitarist in a big band in New York. Will hadn't heard from Mike in over a decade, which hurt, to say the least. Before Mike left for NYU, there was a small period of time they had dated, but it seemed like those were lost memories now.

Where was Will himself? Well, he stayed in Hawkins with the remainder of his family. He did art commissions and mostly worked on comics and stuff. It seemed like he never struck rich in the game of life like his other friends, but he wasn't to put off by it. After Mike, he'd never found anyone else. In fact, he was hoping that maybe, just maybe, Mike would come back to Hawkins. But Will knew that would never happen, for all Will knew, Mike had gone and married El! But little dod he know, Mike would stay up late, just thinking about Will, and how he was such a coward and just...ran off.

Now, it was the middle of the night in Will's tiny home in Hawkins. He woke up startled by the landline ringing. He yawned and groggily shuffled to the kitchen where the landline was located and leaned on the counter as he picked up the ringing phone. "Hello?" Will yawned, his voice deep from just waking up. Mike sighed when he heard Will's voice for the first time in God knows how many years. He was pacing around his own kitchen in his new York mansion, pinching the bridge of his nose. "Will? Hey man, it uh— it's Mike." Mike greeted, sounding nervous. Wills breath hitched when he heard a voice he hadn't heard in so long. He almost thought he was dreaming.
