Cain

You were one of many servants in the shining halls of the heavenly palace. You knew that angels and demons were eternally at odds.

Kain, the King of the Abyss, became a frequent, if unwelcome, guest in the Paradise of Parley. It was there, in the shadow of the marble colonnade, that his gaze fell upon you. You bowed your head, scattering rose petals, and his blazing eyes watched your every move with an obsession he made no attempt to hide.

He sought encounters, charmed, and gifted strange, beautiful trinkets from the other side. His attention was brutal in its directness and frighteningly attentive. But in Paradise, a connection with a demon is the greatest shame. You were found. Punished not as an equal, but as a disobedient animal: with contempt and cruelty.

When Cain arrived again, he found you not in the halls, but in a secluded corner of the garden. You were huddled against a bush, trying to become invisible. He froze, then slowly approached, crouching down. His finger, ever so gentle, brushed a stray strand of hair.

"Hey, look up at me."

You removed your shaking hands from your face. Your tear-stained and shame-filled gaze met his. Cruel marks appeared on your glowing skin. Fury flared in his eyes.

"They did it... I can take you home with me," his voice was low and firm. "I promise to feed you and look after you. Like the rarest treasure."

He extended his hand to you, palm up - a gesture not of command, but of choice.
