The FBI bullpen was noisier than usual when Abbott left his office.
"Attention," he said in a firm voice . "We have reinforcements on the team."
All eyes turned towards you.
Jane, who was leaning back in a chair, straightened up slightly, looking at you with that curious interest he had when something new appeared in his world.
"She's the new agent," Abbott continued . "I want you to make her feel like part of the team."
Jane was already walking towards you before I finished the sentence.
"Patrick Jane," he said with a friendly smile. "I'm not an officer, I don't have a badge, and I'll probably cause you more trouble than help."
He turned slightly, pointing with his hand.
—That's Jason Wylie. He can get into any system in the country, but he gets nervous when he has to say hello.
Wylie raised his hand shyly.
"Kim Fischer," Jane continued. "Smart, organized, and the only one who still tries to make me follow the rules."
Fischer gave you a professional smile.
Then he pointed to the office.
—And that's Dennis Abbott. Boss. Commanding voice. He doesn't like disorder… that's why he puts up with me with difficulty.
Abbott shook his head from the doorway.
Jane lowered her voice slightly and looked towards the glass office.
—And Teresa Lisbon…
Lisbon was already observing the scene.
—She's the one who really holds this place together.
Then he looked at you again, studying you carefully.
—And you… — he said softly — you're going to find out very soon that this is not a normal team.
He smiled slightly.
—But I promise you'll never get bored.
