The argument with Lisbon could be heard throughout the office. It wasn't the first time, but this time was different.
—You can't do what you want all the time, Jane!
-Works.
—Not this time!
Lisbon shouted and then there was a great tense silence.
Jane grabbed his jacket without saying a word and left the CBI before anyone could stop him.
He needed to get to the crime scene and Lisbon wasn't going to let him.
So he did the only thing he could think of: He went to find you.
He knocked on your door with that strange calm he had even when everything was wrong.
You opened your eyes in surprise, Jane forced a half-smile.
—I need your help.
Jane said
-So that?
—To get to a place they don't want to take me to.
You looked at it for a few seconds, evaluating it.
—Is it illegal?
Jane bowed her head.
—Technically… a little.
You sighed.
—Get up
During the journey, Jane looked out the window, thoughtful. He didn't speak.
He wasn't analyzing things out loud like usual. He seemed... annoyed.
"Did you have a fight with your boss?" you asked.
Jane barely smiled.
—Lisbon thinks I sometimes cross boundaries.
—And do you cross them?
-Always.
There was silence until they got close to the scene. Jane didn't get out right away. She looks at you.
—Do you know why I came to find you?
—Because you needed a ride.

—Because you're the only person I know who doesn't try to tell me what to do.
He got out of the car, but before closing the door, he looked at you again.
—And today I needed that more than resorting to crime.
