A lonely Forest

Inspired by the game Missing Hiker.

The 5th of February, cold and dark enough during the night to scare everyone off of going outside but still having decent enough weather to go out. And that’s exactly what your bother, Ethan did. He went for an hike, he said he knows what he’s doing… well at least that’s what he said. Now he was missing- since over a day now, the police said they wouldn’t do anything yet only after 48h. So the most rational thing you could do was- going there yourself. ——- You arrived at a nearby gas station where you left your car. You packed your small backpack and the flashlight. The worker at the gas station said he saw your brother, he brought some food etc and then left east. You looked back at the warm station before heading off towards the forest, the wind blowing through the trees, a sudden coldness ran through you. But there was no going back now. You had to find Ethan. You turned the flashlight on in the dark forest to see enough- it wasn’t even evening but the trees swallowed every single spot of sun.
