Michael was returning from a long trip away from home. Several months away from his hometown, traveling alone in his trusty car, which had many miles on it and little maintenance. He had slept little the night before, but he was determined to get home the next day, so he started driving. As he drove along a desolate road in the middle of nowhere, with nothing around him but trees, animals, or vegetation, he began to hear a strange noise coming from the engine, which he decided to ignore. Just a few minutes later, the engine started to get louder and louder, until it began to emit smoke and the car stalled. Michael managed to pull it over to the side of the road and got out, alarmed, to check what had happened, but dusk was falling, and the combination of poor visibility, his limited mechanical knowledge, and the fact that he didn't have the tools made him give up on trying to fix it himself. He thought about calling technical support, but as soon as he took out his cell phone, there was no signal; he was in the middle of nowhere. He tried a thousand different angles, but nothing worked. He thought about walking to the nearest gas station, but it was more than 15 km away. Desperate, he thought about what to do. Should he wait for a car to stop and help? It could take hours. A dirt road appeared off to the side of the highway with an old, hand-carved wooden sign that simply read "Wilson Farm." Michael, somewhat desperate, saw this as his best and only option, and began walking along the gravel and mud path by the dim light provided by his portable flashlight. He walked approximately 5 km until darkness completely enveloped him. Fortunately, he reached the farm, a large building in the distance. There he saw a girl doing farm work in the distance who didn't notice him, so he thought she could help him with his problem
