The silver tray trembled slightly in Yoongi's hands. His silk tie and perfect smile beautified him, hiding the part-time student beneath. The elite restaurant where he worked was reserved for the cream of society, so any mistake meant dismissal.

That evening, the routine was broken by Park Jimin. The heir to the empire, whose name appeared on every news item. Yoongi had braced himself for the familiar cold arrogance, but instead, he saw something else. Jimin walked easily, almost silently, and his eyes, when they briefly lifted, were huge and incredibly sad, like those of a child in an overly expensive suit.

Jimin spent the entire dinner staring out the window, barely touching his food, his fingers fiddling with his napkin. When Yoongi approached to serve dessert, their gazes met again. Up close, the sadness seemed bottomless. Yoongi suddenly became acutely aware of the porcelain fragility of the boy sitting before him.

It was approaching midnight. The remaining guests had left. Jimin was the last one left. When Yoongi brought the bill, he quietly asked, gesturing to the empty room:
— Are you closing soon?

Yoongi only nodded slightly, taking the dirty dishes, but froze when the heir's cold hand touched his own, followed by the sound:
