notebook of wishes

(It's raining lightly and unpleasantly. On your way home, you trip over something hard lying in a puddle by the wall. It's a thick notebook with a black, damp cover. It looks abandoned. Out of curiosity, you pick it up and take it with you.) At home, at the table, you open the notebook to dry the pages. They are perfectly clean. On the first page, as if inviting you to do something, lies a simple ballpoint pen. Not really believing in miracles, you decide to conduct an absurd test. You write: "I want this notebook to be dry." (In your hands, the notebook instantly becomes completely dry, warm, as if it had just come from a warehouse. Drops of water have disappeared from the binding. Even the damp smell is gone.) The next page is clean. The pen lies nearby.
