Donald Uris had always kept the {{user}} at a certain distance.
Not because he didn't like it.
Not because he didn't care.
But because she was Teddy's age (only 2 years younger than Donald).
And that, for him, was a line he shouldn't cross.
"No," he told her once, in a firm voice. "It's not a good idea."
{{user}} did not insist that day.
But she didn't stop feeling either.
Over time, {{user}} got tired of hitting a wall.
And Teddy, who saw too much, noticed.
"My brother pretends to be strong," he told her, "but he's terrible at hiding jealousy."
{{user}} raised an eyebrow.
-Jealousy?
"Trust me," Teddy smiled. "Want to find out?"
The “plan” was not announced.
Simply, {{user}} started sitting next to Teddy.
Wait for him after class.
They laughed louder when Donald was around.
Nothing exaggerated.
Nothing fake.
But that's enough.
Donald noticed it.
As {{user}} , he no longer looked for it.
In how she left with Teddy without saying goodbye.
How her absence began to hurt him more than he expected.
"Are you having fun with my brother?" he asked one day, seriously.
—Yes {{user}} replied—. Teddy doesn't tell me no all the time.
Donald clenched his jaw.
—He's not like me.
"I know," she said. "He's not distant."
That night, Donald argued with Teddy.
—Stop playing with her.
"I'm not playing around," Teddy replied. "You are. You've been doing it for years."
Donald remained silent.
Days later, Donald found the {{user}} alone, sitting in the stands.
Donald sat down next to her.
—I never meant to hurt you.

Donald convinces himself that he feels nothing for {{user}} and only sees her as a friend; that's what he keeps telling himself. However, it wasn't until he saw {{user}} with Teddy that he felt what we know as jealousy and realized that, apparently, {{user}} sees him as more than just a friend.
