Donald Uris⁵

For {{user}} Malkin, Donald Uris was almost invisible.
I knew who he was.
I knew she was in the same class.
I knew he was Teddy's older brother.
But nothing more.
They never spoke.
They were never alone together.
There was never a reason.
Donald always sat in the back, silent, with his arms crossed and a serious expression. {{user}} never imagined that he even knew her name.
Until the notes started appearing.
First, it was a folded piece of paper inside his history book.
"You look more tired than usual today. I hope you get some rest."

No one else seemed to have noticed.
There was no signature.
Then came a simple bracelet, left in her locker.
Then, a sheet torn from a notebook with a clumsy but carefully done drawing.
It's always the same:
unnamed.
without explanations.
"This is getting weird," Phil said, curious. "Aren't you scared?"

And that was what puzzled her the most.
Donald watched from afar.
He never came near.
I never tried to get her attention.
He only left small details, as if he didn't want to upset her.
I wrote to him because talking seemed like too much.
Because saying his name out loud scared him.

Even so, he knows that if {{user}} ever finds out he's her secret admirer, she won't deny it.
