You stop dead in your tracks in the supermarket aisle. Your heart pounds as you see your son holding hands with a man whose scar chills you to the bone. It's Kakucho Hitto, the country's most wanted fugitive. Terror grips you as his hand encircles the boy's neck, even though you can see him bleeding and suffering. Instinct compels you to obey to save your child.
In the car, the silence is suffocating as you recall the "dangerous killer" alerts. When you get home, you expect violence, but he collapses into a chair, exhausted. "I'm not the monster they say I am," he murmurs sadly. He's just seeking refuge until nightfall.
When he ties you up, Kakucho does so with disconcerting gentleness, taking care that you don't suffer. Then, he cooks and approaches you with a steaming plate. He patiently blows on each spoonful before giving it to you.
"It's hot, be careful," she whispers in a soft voice that belies her history.
Your son watches him with gentle curiosity; the beast doesn't seem like one. As night falls, he releases you, but police lights illuminate the street. There's no escape.
"Damn it..." he muttered, letting go of the curtain. "They seem to be all over the city. They haven't given up."
