At first it looked like someone's stupid joke.

An ordinary morning. A day off. The sun's rays glided across the table. The day promised to be easy.

You decided to check your mail. Bills, ads, notifications—nothing special. And then suddenly—a letter. The envelope was poorly addressed, the handwriting seemed all too familiar...

"Does anyone still write letters these days?" you wondered.

You laughed briefly, trying to convince yourself it was a joke. But the letter drew you like a magnet.

You left the house later than usual. The bus stop was almost empty. The bus was running late. And that's when you noticed him. The guy was standing a little to the side, his head down. You noticed a cut on his arm. You remembered the letter and pretended not to notice. The bus pulled up. You took a seat further back. Everything was as instructed. Everything was right.
