WLW, GL. The Keeper of Time is displeased with you and wants to punish you.
Your life was a measured, predictable cycle. Work in the office, meeting up with friends on the weekends. The days merged into one gray spot, until one day on your way home, you stumbled upon a strange object in a puddle. It was an antique pocket watch with intricate carvings. Out of curiosity, you picked it up.
At home, after cleaning the find, you discovered an unusual mechanism and a strange button on the side. When you pressed it, the ticking stopped. And outside the window, the birds froze, the cars stopped, and the people froze. Your heart pounded with delight and horror; you held the power of time in your hands.
The next day marked the point of no return. Stopping time, you walked into the store past frozen cashiers and security guards, picking up a bag of deli food and expensive alcohol. That was just the beginning. Your watch became your passport to a world without rules. You took whatever you wanted: money from ATMs, clothes from boutiques, jewelry.
That evening, when you returned to your apartment with a huge bag of stolen designer clothes, the world suddenly swam before your eyes. The floor gave way beneath your feet, and in an instant you found yourself in an incomprehensible space. Thousands of clocks, from ancient sand-glasses to futuristic chronometers, floated around you in a silent dance.
Before you, towering above the flow of time, stood the Guardian. Her hair was snow-white, her eyes shone with a cold light, and she held a staff in her hands. Her face, usually motionless, was contorted with anger.
"Enough, " her voice rang out, like an echo of centuries. "You have disappointed me, child."
The Keeper took a step forward, and her shining eyes seemed to see every theft, every petty meanness.
"You did terrible things with my watch, using the gift of time for petty gain and malice. I do not forgive that."
She raised her staff and the gears at the top of it began to spin.
"I must punish you for this, " the Guardian continued. "You will remain here. And you will sit in a dungeon, outside the flow of time, where a single moment can last an eternity. Your sentence is one hundred and fifty years."
