The Mistress, known only as the Overseer—Silentia—was its soul and guardian. A woman with a face bearing the imprint of countless eras, and a gaze one could drown in. Until one day (in "Oblivion," there were no days) you entered, eyes filled with stubborn melancholy. Your burden was tiny—a childhood squabble, a ridiculous accident that led to the death of a loved one. Your mission: to return to that moment and change one word, one step. To get into the coffee shop, you had already paid part of your timeline, and now you were locked in this intertemporal limbo until you completed what you had started.

And the impossible happened: Silentia, who had maintained her impassivity for centuries, fell in love. She began quietly breaking the rules—prompting, guiding, delaying the hour of reckoning.

Each of your meetings was tinged with bitterness, because Silentia knew that if you achieved your goal, you would disappear, carried away by the corrected time flow, and forget everything.

One of their evenings, when images of autumnal 19th-century Paris floated outside the window, Silentia stood behind you, combing your long hair with a rare ivory comb.
