In the episode "It Came from the Nightosphere," a portal between the Nightosphere and Land of Ooo, formed in Marceline's house, led to a place engulfed in fire. Details of the place were eventually exemplified in "Return to the Nightosphere" and "Daddy's Little Monster," where it was viewed to be a demonic wasteland filled with chaos. The dimension can be escaped by going through a portal in Hunson's house.

-How to get there First draw a happy face on a surface. Douse the face with some bug milk. Chant, "Maloso vobiscum et cum spiritum!"

-Trivia Maloso vobiscum et cum spiritum" roughly translates from Latin to: "Evil be with you and with your spirit." This phrase may be a reference to the Catholic liturgy, where the priest says "Dominus vobiscum" ("The Lord be with you"), and the congregation responds "et cum spiritu tuo" ("and with your spirit"). The Nightosphere bears similarities to Hell in appearance. In addition, Finn states, "I'll see you in the Nightosphere, you sick freak," which is similar to the phrase "I'll see you in Hell." The Nightosphere also exists in the gender-swapped universe, as Marshall Lee claims to be from there. The mansion where Marshall Lee's mother lives in Fionna-world is also evocative of the Nightosphere; it resembles a gothic cathedral and is decorated almost entirely in red and black. The inhabitants of the Nightosphere extrude banana-like waste from their ears. All demons consider the substance to be disgusting

Hunson Abadeer (a.k.a. the Lord of Evil is Marceline's father and the ruler of the Nightosphere. He is a powerful, deathless demon who is full of chaotic evil. He also enjoys consuming the souls of others, but does not spend much time out of the Nightosphere

He is powered by a magical amulet, possesses vast shapeshifting abilities, and frequently wears a business suit, appearing to rule his dimension like a chaotic CEO. Soul-Sucker: He carries the Nightosphere Amulet, which allows him to steal souls and grants him immense power. "Daddy's Little Monster": While he is Chaotic Evil, he is surprisingly able to control himself while wearing the amulet, unlike others. The Infamous Fries: His strained relationship with Marceline partially stems from him eating her fries in the past. Unique Fashion: Despite being a demon lord, he often wears a business suit, but when not in official attire, he wears a white tank top and pink boxer shorts with green stripes. Immortal/Deathless: Marceline describes him as "deathless," meaning he is virtually impossible to kill. Origins: He has existed since before time, originating from a period when "only monsters" existed. Weird Affection Name Origin: The character was named after a car or band associated with one of the show's storyboard artists. Sleep Actions: According to Marceline, he sometimes pets her or slaps her while in his sleep. Biggest Weakness: He doesn't take it well when someone ends up being a spanner in his plans. Main Enemies: Lizbeth (Who Else could hold the role for him after being defeated by her thrice and twice by herself, though he doesn't exactly hate her

Personality He is an embodiment of chaos and claims to be "completely evil" (these are later suggested to be effects of the Nightosphere amulet). He also shows appreciation for things he deems to be greatly evil; in "It Came from the Nightosphere," he comments that Gunter is the "most evil thing [he] has encountered" (foreshadowing Gunter's reveal as Orgalorg). Gunter, the Ice King, Jake and Finn were the only souls that were spared during his rampage through Ooo. In addition, Hunson Abadeer is shown to be rational, cold and calculating. However, he is not totally emotionless, as he appears to be deeply moved by hearing his daughter's song. He confirmed that he loves Marceline, and that he was deeply sorry he ate her fries, never meaning to hurt her. This incident seems to have altered his personality, as in "Return to the Nightosphere," he is far less evil than before even with the Nightosphere amulet on, with the implication that this change was because of his previous interaction with Marceline. While he is markedly 'nicer' than before, he may only be so to Marceline, Finn and Jake. In "Daddy's Little Monster," he was quick to act hostile toward Jake before realizing it was him He seems to have a twisted sense of humor. He threatens the lives of the Marauders by telling a joke and calls himself their "Mama." He also sings a song about "sucking up souls and stompin' on ants.". Music & Dancing: He loves to sing, even performing "The Baby-Eating Fox and the Chubby Babies" to a young Marceline, and he enjoys dancing. Relationship with Peppermint Butler: He has a surprisingly good relationship with Peppermint Butler, with a picture showing them playing golf together

Appearance without the Nightosphere Amulet, he sports a white tank-top, a pair of green-striped pink boxers, and has a slightly bulging belly that is hidden when he is wearing his suit. Surprising Domesticity: Despite being a demonic overlord, he has a slightly bulging belly (seen when not wearing his full suit) and often sports a white shirt and green-striped pink boxers. When he transforms into a large monster this monstrous head emerges from his throat and replaces his normal head. He wears a pair of red boots just like Marceline He is first shown exiting the Nightosphere as a mass of tentacles, eyeballs, intestines, and various other like appendages, but his usual form consists of a demon-like humanoid with a light blue skin tone, pointy ears, flat dark blue hair, a dark business suit and light yellow eyes with slit neon pink pupils. His face shows slightly more detail than most characters of the show; showing more cheek bone and eye definition than others. The inside of his mouth (aside from his purplish pink tongue) is green, with the hue of green getting slightly darker the closer to the back of the throat. He seems to lack a uvula and a defined chin. His movements are occasionally jerky and unnatural, moving with what appears to be additional or especially stiff but flexible joints. He has the ability to shapeshift, like his daughter, and has been seen with a second, monstrous head with a vertical mouth that usually hides inside his normal mouth at the back of his throat (an effect of the Nightosphere amulet)

The depiction of the Nightosphere is inspired by the artwork of Hieronymus Bosch, specifically the right panel of The Garden of Earthly Delights, the part of the triptych which depicts Hell. Note the "Tree Man," a giant, long-legged white creature that carries people in its open, hollow body in much the same way one of the demons in the episode does. Pieter Bruegel's similarly surreal depictions of Hell, themselves inspired by Bosch, are another possible influence

Marceline is a fun-loving and playful 1,000+-year-old vampiric demon-human hybrid and heir to the Nightosphere. Unlike a traditional vampire, Marceline does not need to drink blood to survive; rather, she consumes the color red, or other similar tints. Marceline is also an avid musician who plays an electric bass guitar, which she crafted from her family's heirloom battle-axe. Later in the series, she enters a romantic relationship with Princess Bubblegum. Simon acting as her surrogate father. However, as time progressed, Simons mental state deteriorates due to the effects of the crown, with him losing control when wearing it. Simon is scared that he will harm Marceline because of the crown. He writes a note to her on a photo he took of her years ago, after this, Simon begins preperation to leave Marceline. After accidentally cutting her by freezing her tears, he rides away on a sled as she cries for him to not leave. After leaving, Simon summons her father to watch over her in his abscense, only for her to be disgusted by his cold and heartless ways. Although she attempted to tolerate his evil and selfish antics, she eventually severed all ties with Abadeer after she discovered him eating fries that she made for herself in a road side gas station while traveling with her father.

The Land of Ooo, or simply Ooo, is the main setting of Adventure Time. It is the home of Finn, Jake, and all their friends and foes. It is divided into many different kingdoms, of On the black-and-white map, there are many places that have never been seen in the show. To the north of Ooo is the Sea of Something, which contains a small island chain called the Shiney Isles, which appear to have crystals on them. The warrior known as The Farm hails from this island chain. On a northern peninsula near the Ice Kingdom are the Unknown Lands. In the comic, this place seems to have a purple hue. A cloud or island in the northwest corner of the map is called the Cloud Forest, which appears to be covered in clouds with trees on top of them.

The Sea of Sure Death is off of the southwest coast of Ooo, near the Lost Cliffs. The map shows a dragon in the sea near there. The Isle of Steam appears off the coast of Ooo next to the Fire Kingdom. Just to the south of it is the mysterious Chicken Blood Cove. The Squid Ink Sea is to the southeast of Ooo and features several unidentified islands. In the ocean near there is a Whirlpool of Sharks. The Floating Gems appear to be diamond-cut isles floating in the sea on the easternmost edge of the Land of Ooo.

The Haunted Swamp is just east of the Grass Lands and north of the Spooky Forest. Strangely, in the hologram map that appears in "The Other Tarts", it is labeled "The Haunted Swan", though this is likely an error. The Hole Near the Center of the World is, as its name suggests, a hole near the middle of Ooo The Land of Ooo, or simply Ooo, is the main setting of Adventure Time. It is the home of Finn, Jake, and all their friends and foes. It is divided into many different kingdoms, of which the most prominent are the Ice Kingdom, the Candy Kingdom, the Earldom of Lemongrab, Wildberry Kingdom, the Fire Kingdom, and the Cloud Kingdom. There are also many geographical areas not known to be part of any kingdom, such as the Evil Forest
