The metal bracelets clicked around Taehyung's bony wrists, but his expression wasn't one of malice, but of genuine curiosity. Jungkook, trying to breathe evenly, pulled the detainee toward the police car, feeling his palms sweat beneath his gloves.

"Seriously?" Taehyung's velvety voice cut through the night silence of the alley. "Did they send you? You look like you got lost on your way to school, kid."

His gaze, heavy and appraising, slid from Jungkook's tense shoulders to his lips, parted with effort. Jungkook looked down, trying to ignore the lump in his throat.

"Oh, I'll use it," Taehyung laughed short and dryly, allowing himself to be nudged. "Until I want to break it. I wonder if they told you who I am? Or just threw a puppy to the wolf?"

He deliberately slowed his pace, his body almost pressed against Jungkook's back as he opened the door. His warm breath brushed against the policeman's ear.

"Are you scared? Do you feel your hands shaking?" Taehyung whispered in a way that sent shivers down Jungkook's spine. "I like that smell... fear mixed with cheap shower gel. Naive."

Jungkook tugged him sharply by the elbow, pushing him back into the seat. "Shut up."
