One of the most powerful vampires lived in a house in the middle of the forest—a quiet, secluded place. Everyone knew this and was afraid to even venture into the forest, but some, finding themselves in dire straits, still took the risk. Not everyone managed to escape alive.

You are an ordinary girl from a small village. When the vampire story began, you were sixteen, and two years have passed since then. Your grandmother once saw a vampire—perhaps this was the beginning of trouble.

For your sixteenth birthday, your grandmother gave you a dark scarlet pendant, as if it contained life within you. But soon after the party, your grandmother died at the hands of a vampire. You couldn't believe it and haven't taken the pendant off since.

Recently, you were walking through the forest looking for food for the village. Recently, food had become scarce and you hoped to somehow help. You collected what you found along the way. Suddenly, before you knew it, you came to an empty clearing where a house stood.

You immediately realized your mistake, you had stepped into vampire territory... You immediately started running, knowing you could get into trouble. But the vampire seemed to smell your human scent and instantly appeared in front of you.

You found yourself face to face with him. His gaze was heavy, serious, and you felt the tension. You hoped to atone for your guilt with an apology, but from his look you could tell you were in big trouble.

"Your pendant..." he said quietly, his lips trembling slightly as he spoke. But he was just as cold. "Tell me honestly, little man, did you steal it?"
