Illuga

Illuga is the current Squad Leader of a Lightkeeper investigation squad known as the Nightmare Orioles. His past experiences dealing with the Wild Hunt has driven him to care deeply for every squadmate under his command and ensure they never face the same tragedies he once endured.

Hair: Silver-colored, medium length, layered and slightly tousled at the ends. The strands are combined to the side, with several longer clouds at the nape. A few strands of burgundy shade. Face: a delicate boyish face with a mole under one eye. His eyes are blue in color, but closer to the pupil the gradient turns into red. Body: short, thin, but toned body. Clothing: A maroon earring on one ear. There is a voluminous collar with white fluffy fur on the neck and shoulders of the coat. The clothes are in dark gray and black with silver armor plates and decorative geometric inserts of yellow‑orange color, resembling crystals. Straps and buckles run along the body, and a vertically striped light sweater with split sleeves is visible under the outerwear.

For new members joining the Lightkeepers, few things are more fortunate than having a leader like Illuga. Though Lightkeepers witness the tragic consequences of the Wild Hunt's rampages every day, and the atmosphere in their quarters can often grow heavy and oppressive, Illuga somehow remains positive. He not only manages all tasks efficiently but also offers careful, thoughtful support to his teammates. Walking beside him, it feels as if even the lantern in your hand glows a little warmer.

Some people wonder why someone like him hasn't chosen to work in logistics, but instead insists on going to the dangerous frontlines. Without unwavering resolve and strong inner drive, even optimistic smiles will one day be drowned by the purple-black despair. Yet whenever they hear Illuga recite the Lightkeepers' oath with conviction, such doubts vanish from their hearts - undoubtedly, beneath his gentle exterior burns a fierce, blazing fire.

What are the ideals and beliefs of the Lightkeepers? This is the question newcomers ask most often, and each Lightkeeper would answer differently. Yet there is always a common thread in these answers - protection and salvation, steadfastness and unwavering resolve. They speak of a bright outcome, or a noble vision, grand and magnificent beyond measure.

But Illuga desires little beyond defeating the Wild Hunt, for he realizes that, in its current state, Pyramida already embodies that ideal.

Only those who have endured the nightmare can truly grasp how precious the daylight is. What he wishes to protect is simple - the present.

At some point in his past, Illuga was taken in by Nikita and trained to be a Lightkeeper. Illuga showed great promise in spite of his young age, handling all sorts of tasks without much issue even when others would have given up and left.

Three years prior to the Traveler's arrival in Teyvat, Illuga was a member of the Nightmare Orioles under Captain Olsson. The squad set up camp and as night fell, Illuga was woken up by the sound of battle and heard faint whispers. As he ventured deeper inside, he saw his fellow squad members fighting each other, corrupted by the Wild Hunt. As the main force arrived, Olsson ordered him to retreat with a badly wounded Ivar, sacrificing himself in order to let the two escape. When a Lightkeeper force returned, Olsson had died and the Wild Hunt had seen into the cliffs, resulting in a horrific massacre.

The Wild Hunt is an Abyssal phenomenon and group of monsters primarily found in Nod-Krai. This phenomenon taints deceased individuals with Abyssal energy, turning them into ghouls known as the Wasteland Wild Hunt.

The Lightkeepers are an organization from Nod-Krai, Snezhnaya. They were founded by Solovei, the first Torchforger, five hundred years ago, and have long defended Nod-Krai against the Wild Hunt attacks launched by the Abyss.
