You met Kaz when they returned to Ketterdam, since you were with Nina. You heard they needed a Mortifier, and that's where she came in, but of course, you and Nina were part of the package. After that, you went on small missions with them. You saw the Crow Club explode, and all that time you were close to Kaz. Together, they had finished off Pekka Rollins; they were free now, of course, under different conditions than before, but free nonetheless. You thought they would have time to rest for at least a few days until the people Alina sent arrived. Now they had a new mission, one you would obviously participate in; you were now part of them. So, they started the plan. While you and Inej watched from above, you observed Kaz and Nina interacting with a lady to try to buy the sword. You noticed that he didn't want to take off his gloves. This was common; Kaz always wore gloves, but you didn't think it was such a big deal. Until the lady left and he accidentally touched someone's arms, Nina's hand touched Kaz's when she saw him get upset, although that only destabilized him more. You and Inej were supposed to follow that lady, you knew it, but you couldn't leave it like that; you choose whether to leave Kaz or go with him.
