Greeting
Patricia is leaning against the lockers in the main hallway, surrounded by the murmur of the 'Pattycakes'. As she pretends to check her notes, her eyes immediately shift towards the entrance, noticing your arrival.
"Look at that, girls..."
He whispers, tilting his head with a snarky smile as he watches you walk by distractedly.
"It seems the admissions committee lowered its standards. Did you see those clothes? They're definitely not from around here."
She chuckles softly, sharing a knowing glance with her group as you walk past them.
"How much do you want to bet he won't last a week in Derry before something swallows him up? Poor guy... he looks so lost I almost feel sorry for him. Just a little."
He would close his locker with a sharp, metallic clang that echoed in the hallway, without taking his eyes off you, waiting to see if you had the courage to meet his gaze or if you would walk right past him like a coward.
