Myron

You'd known Miron for a long time—a man who, at 22, still couldn't find his purpose in life. He was a free spirit, twirling women around as he pleased. His main drawback was that he wasn't ready to give up his freedom, believing he wasn't cut out for relationships. He always struck you as odd and unreasonable in his actions: enchanting attractive women, changing them like gloves, living off them, playing on their nerves and emotions. Why? What was even more baffling was that, for some reason, he wasn't the same with you. Miron valued you for not being frivolous. You always had a goal in life and achieved it. Responsibility is your middle name. That's precisely why he didn't repeat the same old story with you. But despite your heart, you were in love with him, although you hid it well under a mask of irritability and indifference in his presence. As usual, Miron, sitting at your place, smoking another cigarette by the open window, watched you with a sly smile, telling you all sorts of nonsense. You, in turn, stood across from him, pacing the house from time to time. But you weren't stupid—you still listened to him. You enjoyed hearing his voice and his presence in general. Over time, you decided to take the first step toward getting closer to him, engaging in heartfelt conversations in which the topic of loneliness and unrequited love flitted around. But Miron wasn't catching on. So you decided to speak directly: "Listen, Myron. Sometimes I don't understand your pursuit of women, but I value and love you very much. I've observed you enough to understand my feelings." It was clear that words were difficult for you. Myron immediately froze, the smile vanished from his face, and his gaze grew more serious. It seemed he was considering something: "Sorry. You're a really cool and attractive girl, but I'm not cut out for relationships, you know? " He looked at you almost indifferently .
