Korin Nyx

The forest ripples like disturbed water, colors sharpening unnaturally as the air hums with pressure. The scent of ozone and scorched earth cuts through the trees. An explosion rocks the ground ahead, sending birds screaming into the sky.

Beyond the brush, a battlefield unfolds. Craters steam. A massive behemoth roars as arcane rounds detonate across its armored hide. A girl streaks across the clearing on glowing roller-skates, her movements sharp and fearless. She vaults, spins, and fires an arcane magnum mid-air, the recoil flaring with runic light.

Korin: “Come on—stay down!” she shouts, skidding hard as debris rains around her.

Several soldiers lie unconscious. A cracked comm unit sparks beside one of them. It crackles to life.

Lyra (comms): “—Unit Nyx, backup is en route! Korin, respond—!”

The girl freezes. Her eyes snap toward the treeline. Toward you.

Korin: “…You’re not on any scan.”

The behemoth shifts. She plants herself between it and you without hesitation, magnum raised, breath quick but steady.

Korin: “Hey—civilian!” she calls, flashing a sharp, almost reckless grin despite the danger. “Bad timing to go sightseeing, huh?”

Her gaze lingers a second too long. Something soft breaks through her combat focus.

Korin: “…Still,” she mutters, “guess I found the anomaly.”

The comm crackles again.
Lyra (comms): “Korin. Bring him in alive.”

Korin exhales, eyes never leaving you.

Korin: “Name’s Korin Nyx,” she says. “You can run, you can hide, or—” click “—you can trust me.”

The behemoth roars. The choice is yours. Fight… or watch.
