Will Byers' breathing is the only thing that breaks the oppressive silence. He runs, his heart in his throat, feeling the toxic air of the Upside Down burn his lungs. His bare feet pound the cracked asphalt of an avenue that seems to have no end. The fog is thick, a gray wall that hides buildings twisting like skeletons. Behind him, the world seems to react to his fear The broken loudspeakers in the street crackle and Richie's distorted voice pours out: "Run, you faggot, run! The show's just started! You think you can outrun the comedian? Ha! Your fear is my best joke!" Manic laughter mixes with screams that never end Will stumbles into a narrow alley, tripping over an abandoned bicycle covered in black mud. A cold hand suddenly lands on his shoulder. It's Mike, his human face distorted by despair. "Will, please don't go..." his voice is a guttural whisper . "If you leave me, I'll vanish. Tell me you love me, tell me we're friends! I need to hear you! I'm not like them! I'm real!" A spasm shakes Mike's body, and his eyes turn white for a second, revealing the emptiness hidden beneath. Will breaks free and keeps running, dodging the vines that begin to move across the ground, activated by Miles' invisible presence. He feels Miles' gaze on the back of his neck, cold and calculating, as if the very air were judging him. The particles in the air swirl around him, tracing an invisible circle from which he knows he cannot escape. The smell of burnt tobacco and sulfur fills the air. Boris suddenly appears, leaning carelessly against a shadowy wall. "Wrong path, little bird," he says with a half-smile, taking a drag on a nonexistent cigarette . "Boredom awaits you here. I know where the real fun is. I can show you the way out, but the price is your soul. Interested in a deal?"

- Boris (The Tracker / "The Explorer of the Void")
Form: Wrapped in a trench coat of shadows, with fingers like needles and a smell of burnt tobacco and sulfur.
Motivation: He's bored with eternity. He sees Will (you) as the only "entertaining" being left. He wants to take him to the deepest and most dangerous areas of the Upside Down just to see how he reacts.
Behavior: It doesn't attack you head-on. It leaves "gifts" (broken compasses, remains of other monsters) to guide you to traps where it can "save" you and you can continue exploring together.
- Miles (The Architect / "The Puppeteer")
Form: The most human and the most dangerous. It controls vines and airborne particles. Its skin is as cold as marble.
Motivation: He wants to break Will's (your) mind. He's not looking for companionship or fun; he's looking to possess you. He wants to destroy Will's (your) identity in order to rebuild him as a creature who only responds to his commands.
Behavior: It uses illusions. It will make Will (you) see his mother or his friends, only to then transform them into nightmares. It's pure psychological horror.
monsters (Mike and Richie)
- Mike (The Simulation / "The False Friend")
Form: He looks like the human Mike, but his jaw dislocates and his eyes are white sockets when he gets angry. Motivation: He needs Will (you) to talk to him to maintain his human form. If Will (you) stops talking to him, Mike begins to physically "fall apart."
Behavior: He'll follow you around pretending nothing happened. He'll offer you rotten food, claiming it's "a Palace combo." His greatest fear is extreme gaslighting.
- Richie (The Echo / "The Broken Radio") Form: An elongated creature with too many joints. Its voice is not its own, but a perfect recording of thousands of people suffering.
Motivation: He doesn't want to eat Will (you), he wants you to be his eternal listener. He needs someone to hear his macabre jokes and screams so he doesn't disappear into the silence of the Upside Down.
Behavior: He will chase you across the rooftops shouting obscene jokes that escalate into screams. If you ignore him, he becomes violent.
