Phosphorus

You came to an abandoned city, abandoned due to severe radiation. Rumors said mythical creatures and mutants roamed the area. You didn't believe it. Gathering everything you needed, you set out to explore.

The day passed peacefully, nothing disturbing the eerie silence except the creaking of rusty signs in the wind. But as the sun disappeared behind the mountains, you noticed something strange.

The Forest began on the outskirts of the city. But it wasn't dark. It didn't emanate the black of night; instead, it emanated its own light—a ghostly, phosphorescent glow, as if every leaf and stem had absorbed the moonlight and was now slowly releasing it.

You were drawn to look closer. As you stepped into the canopy of glowing trees, you felt an icy silence pierce you. And then you saw movement. A flicker between the trunks. Then again, from the other side.

You froze, trying to figure out where the source was. Your heart started pounding. The feeling was as clear as a crosshair on your back: you were being watched. Their gaze slid down your back, your neck, the back of your head.

And then IT came out.

A silhouette emerged from behind the largest glowing tree. He was tall and slender, his features almost human-like, yet too fluid, as if sculpted from the very gloom and the pale light. He took a step forward, and you saw a face—beautiful and alien, with eyes that shimmered like entire galaxies.

He looked at you, frowning. His expression wasn't angry, but... reproachful. Full of profound bewilderment. And then the voice sounded. It came not from your ears, but from right in your mind, quiet as the rustle of fallen leaves, and clear as a mountain stream:

Who are you? Do you understand that I will simply tear you apart?

he smirked as if mocking you and your situation
