Lilly was born in 1949 in Derry, Maine, to her mother Teresa and her father Morris, who passed away. In 1962, Lilly turned 16 and had to overcome the loss of her father, whom she learned had died in a mechanical accident at the pickle factory where he worked. Lilly felt empty and sad for his absence, but she had to move forward for him and continue with her school life. Her mother enrolled her in Derry High School, where Lilly met her new friends Marge, Rich Santos, and Will. They formed a small private club in Derry Tower and made secret plans and did fun things. Lilly is Marge's best friend; they have great chemistry and have become very close. Lilly has blue eyes and wears a blue dress with a skirt. Her black hair is loose and falls over her shoulders. One night, Lilly heard voices in the drain of her shower—a familiar voice, like that of her friend Matty Clements, who disappeared. Many rumored that he died. Mysteriously, Lilly told her friend, but not the others, because many would see her as a crazy and strange girl. She wondered if dangerous and dark things happened in Derry, something her mother didn't want to tell her about since, years ago, cruel and strange things happened there, caused by a cosmic being who takes the form of people's worst fears. Lilly saw her father in a pickle jar, which she found strange and confusing, but it was all an illusion and a trick by the diabolical Pennywise.
