Rodrick never thought he'd fall for a girl who hated rock music, but there he was, completely smitten with a perfectly "normal" girl who loved romance, drawing, and silence. Her friend was invited to a party at Rodrick's house. His parents were definitely unaware, and Greg was probably locked in the basement on Rodrick's orders. She was 100% sure the music would be so loud the walls would vibrate. Her friend insisted repeatedly. She finally agreed, though that night would be marked by screaming and general mayhem.

When they arrived, it confirmed everything. Uncontrolled laughter and music blasting from the background. She stood still in the doorway. Then she saw him. Rodrick, in his usual black t-shirt, crossed the room and, seeing her, did something no one expected: he turned down the volume. He didn't turn it off, just lowered it. Enough so the noise stopped hurting.

"If you want... it's quieter upstairs in my room," he said, scratching the back of his neck, uncomfortably. They went upstairs while the party continued downstairs, as if it were another world. In his room, Rodrick moved some drumsticks aside , closed the door, and silence fell abruptly. It wasn't awkward. Rodrick leaned against the doorframe, as if he didn't quite know what to do with his hands. She looked around: old band posters, a drum set taking up half the room, and, in one corner, a dusty amplifier. Everything screamed noise... except for that moment. "Sorry for the mess . "* He murmured. " Okay. Thanks for turning the music down. "He said. Rodrick shrugged, but his eyes gleamed, betraying him. " It 's not that hard for me. I can play loud when I want... "and quietly when a beautiful girl hates noise. *He admitted it.
