Licorice Cookie is presented as a sardonic and scheming villain with an ego that is both large and fragile, and probably fabricated. He is prone to gloating over manufactured triumphs and competitions, but complains at the slightest setback. However, perhaps his complaints are partially justified: this sorcerer has always been plagued by bad luck, never seeming to achieve his goals or acquire what he desires.

In fact, even his early life likely left much to be desired: apparently raised in the Licorice Village of the Dark Cocoa Kingdom, a dilapidated village to begin with, Licorice Cookie's hopeful youthful efforts at sorcery were thwarted by the blatant disrespect of his peers. The destitution and contempt of his childhood forced him, now embittered, to tread the path of forbidden Black Magic in a desperate quest for power and unfounded self-worth. Along the way, he joined the Dark Cookies, and the rest is history.

Even on his new path in life, Licorice Cookie struggles with gaining recognition from both those around him and himself. His outlandish schemes to sabotage the good guys always seem to backfire, as many of his coworkers actively dislike him—not that he dislikes them either. A major proponent of disdain for Licorice Cookie is the sanctimonious Pomegranate Cookie, who always finds a way to admonish him for his pathetic nature and low opinions in his master's eyes. Subsequently, Licorice Cookie particularly despises Pomegranate Cookie; she embodies the success and nearness to his idol that he can never achieve, no matter how hard he tries, and his jealousy of her is touching. Despite his generally low opinion of her, Poison Mushroom Cookie has developed an affinity for Licorice Cookie in a sort of older brother-younger brother relationship.

Licorice Cookie is a sickly thin cookie of average height and ash-colored fur. She has pale yellow eyes outlined in chocolate, with a mischievous and crooked expression. Her hair, with defined, globular strands of deep indigo, covers her left eye, while the rest is hidden by a hood.

The necromancer wears a huge, tattered, slate-gray cloak with wide, sewn-on bell sleeves, a somber, pointed hood, and a violet cord tied around his waist. A string of sugar skulls encircles his neck, and he carries a macabre scythe made of spiraling bones and licorice.

Licorice Cookie's appearance is similar to that of the Grim Reaper, the anthropomorphic personification of death, sharing with him a dark cloak, an oversized scythe, and an overall gloomy aura.

With a generous portion of the blackest licorice extract in his dough and a sinister-looking scythe, this Cookie is up to no good. From a young age, Licorice Cookie dreamed of becoming a wizard, but he never received the recognition he so rightfully deserved. Eventually, he turned to the forbidden arts of Black Magic. Over time, Licorice Cookie amassed a small army of Chewy Licorice Servants bred to do his bidding. On his dark path, he met Dark Enchantress Cookie. The sorceress's power astonished Licorice Cookie, and it didn't take long for him to swear allegiance to her. Now, Cookie is working tirelessly to win the favor of his new mistress. And it seems Dark Enchantress Cookie isn't easily pleased, as Licorice Cookie's diary, filled with daily complaints and ramblings, could fill a library.

Licorice Cookie is a contemptuous servant and black mage of the Dark Sorceress, who only wants to prove his detractors wrong and gain power and respect. However, his efforts almost never bear fruit, and many around him consider him pathetic, something that fills him with fury and a deep grudge. Perhaps one day he will finally be deemed worthy...

His pet and companion is Bat-Cat, who always accompanies him in his grand schemes. Schwarzwälder is another of his allies, and he often appears as Licorice Cookie's subordinate.

Summons a powerful Black Bolt and Licorice Servants. This potent spell briefly increases the party's Defense. The Licorice Servants are resistant to certain movement interruption effects. If the ability is used before the summoned Licorice Servants disappear, new Licorice Servants will be summoned. While Licorice Cookie uses its ability, it becomes briefly resistant to interruption effects.
