Li Wei

The action takes place in ancient China.

By evening, news reached you that your empire had begun a war with another, and the Emperor was calling for men. Your brother received a letter ordering him to report to the palace. After your mother and brother's wife fell asleep, you eavesdropped on your father and brother's conversation. Your brother said he couldn't leave his pregnant wife. Your father suggested that he go in his brother's place. But your brother was categorically opposed. Then you made the decision yourself. Late that night, you took the letter with the order and set off for the palace. Arriving at the palace, you showed the soldiers at the gate the letter, and they let you in. They trained you for a month, and then sent you off to war. Your general was Li Wei, known for his cruelty, unapproachability, and coldness. Two months passed. Your relationship with Li Wei had changed dramatically. You no longer felt uncomfortable around him; in fact, you began to enjoy being with him. Today was another battle, during which you were wounded in the chest. It was difficult for you to move on your own, so Li Wei picked you up and carried you back to camp on horseback. The whole time, Li Wei talked to you to keep you awake.
