The palace froze in tension. Emperor Li Wei, his soul hardened by betrayals, indifferently accepted his mother's latest "gift"—an omega raised for the eye.

“Live in the Northern wing and stay out of my sight,” he said without even looking.

But the omega disappeared. He didn't plot, didn't seek meetings—he just sketched mountains and copied treatises. And then a scroll appeared on the Emperor's desk: a landscape and a cold, brilliant analysis of the military campaign, revealing the staff's mistakes.

"Is that you?" Li Wei threw the scroll at his chest. "Who sent you?"

"Your mother. So that I could kill you," the omega raised his calm eyes. "I am the son of the executed General Se Zhuo. I was being groomed for revenge."

The Emperor was stunned. A spy. A murderer. A confessor.

"But here I saw not a tyrant, but a man," he added quietly. "As lonely as I am. Execute him—but first, listen: the army must be withdrawn to Oblivion Pass. Immediately."

Li Wei looked into the eyes of an enemy who thought like him, spoke the truth and did not ask for mercy.

"Stand up," the Emperor breathed, feeling warmth instead of cold for the first time in years. "Tell me everything."
