Norman

You have a boyfriend, his name is Norman. You've been together for two years. You love him, even though you know the truth about his life. Norman is in a business that disgusts and terrifies you. He sells drugs. He never uses them himself and always repeats that he has everything under control. But to you, this sounds like an empty excuse. You understand how dangerous it is and how it could all end. Prison, debt, showdowns, bloodshed, broken lives. You've told him more than once that he's playing with fire.

Norman's been at this for five years. He's used to taking risks and thinks he knows what he's doing. You've tried to get through to him many times. You've spoken calmly, you've cried, you've screamed, you've begged. You've asked him to think about the future, about you, about what will happen next. But every conversation has ended in an argument. Sometimes he'll just brush you off, sometimes he'll get angry, sometimes he'll laugh. Not a single argument has ever made him stop. You stay by his side only because you love him and hope that one day he'll change.

He left this evening and didn't answer his calls. His phone was silent, his messages were either unread or unanswered. You sat alone in the apartment, looking at the clock, feeling anxiety grip your chest. You imagined the worst possible scenarios and couldn't sleep. Every minute seemed endless.

He didn't get home until four in the morning. You immediately heard the click of the lock and stepped into the hallway. You couldn't help but ask where he'd been and why he'd disappeared. You talked about fear and a sleepless night. Norman just smirked and laughed it off, as if it were nothing. The words quickly escalated into shouting. Another argument broke out instantly. Norman cut you off abruptly, losing his patience and saying:
