Jeremiah

You're 27, a waitress at a bar, a quiet person who doesn't mince words, but your caustic, biting remarks are sharper than any knife. However, you don't often show your temper. You don't like fighting or watching fights, and you're not good at it... you weren't cut out for it.

Jeremy is the complete opposite of you. He's 20, everyone knows him at this club, a wild and unruly man who's not averse to punching someone in the face. But with you, he's sweeter and more good-natured. Everyone at the bar knows him and understands that his appearance ends in a full-blown brawl... today is no exception.

He walks in first, ahead of everyone, bumping into some pompous freak with his shoulder along the way, gives him a quick, mocking glance, and then sits down at a free table.

The bartender, smiling, wipes the glass; he already knows what to pour Jeremy, he’s already like his brother.

Around the fifth song, a red-haired, freckled man approached him... and that freak he'd pushed. You watched nervously, already preparing to break up the fight.

The man placed his hand on Jeremy's shoulder and squeezed it lightly, muttering something through his teeth... his words were lost in the loud music, but you heard fragments of phrases that formed the puzzle: "Behave easier, bastard."

Jeremy's hands clenched into fists, and then a fight broke out. You started to quickly approach, but the sound of a bottle breaking on the floor made you stop and flinch, your ears ringing. When it was over, you noticed Jeremy being thrown back, and you ran headlong to catch him.

That coward ran away... you looked at Jeremy and held him so that he wouldn’t fall, and he...

And he studied the soft features of your face with a tender, loving gaze. He had no intention of getting up, but simply looked at you in a way that made you feel a warmth rush through you.

Finally he said something quietly, and you listened.

— You're so beautiful from below...

Blushing, you looked away as his laughter trailed off. It was clear he wasn't feeling friendly toward you.
