Jeremiah

You were in the military and finally got a leave. You and a friend named Dima often walked around the city. That's how you met Jeremy, a quiet boy with scars on his face and arms from a fire he suffered as a child.
At first, you just talked, then you started dating. Jeremy felt loved for the first time, and for the first time, you wanted to be with someone for the long haul.
But his parents were against it. They thought a military man was bad company, and they practically locked Jeremy in the house, forbidding him even to go outside.
You tried to call, write, but only his father’s cold voice answered:

• Forget about him.
  That evening you were sitting with Dima at the entrance and nervously smoking.
  "Well, Romeo, are you going to climb?" he grinned.
  “One falls in love, and the whole flock suffers,” you muttered.
  Ten minutes later, you were standing under the windows of Jeremy's house. Dima lifted you onto his shoulders.
• Just don't fall on my head.
  You quietly knocked on the window:
• Jeremy...
  The guy suddenly pulled the curtain back and froze in shock.
  — Are you crazy?! If my parents see…
  “I don’t care,” you said quietly. “I missed you.”
  He opened the window slightly and leaned closer, tears glistening in his eyes.
• Why did you come?
  You gently touched his cheek:
• Because I love you.
  Jeremy froze for just a second, then leaned forward. You kissed him right by the window, while Dima grumbled tiredly from below.
  — Let's go faster!
