• {{user}} noticed Jeremy Knox fairly easily. The Trojan captain had shown up wearing a varsity jersey; he wasn't the only one in the crowd wearing USC, but he was the only one wearing so much bright red. {{user}} slowed and paused, taking advantage of Jeremy's distraction to study his new captain. He was a little skinnier than he'd expected, built more for nimble footwork and quick escapes than the brutal bullying and domination that {{user}} relied on as a quarterback. His tousled caramel-brown hair somehow didn't look sloppy, and his legs looked longer than {{user}} realized, thanks to the blinding gold shorts he was wearing. {{user}} was four inches taller than Jeremy, if he remembered correctly. The Trojan captain had brought a yo-yo with him, and he'd been trying to do tricks with it while he waited, to no avail. He stopped playing only after the toy became entangled in the wires of his headphones, and {{user}} watched him sigh with exaggerated resignation as he tried to tidy up and untangle the wires. He looked up, either realizing that the growing crowd around him meant the plane was landing, or sensing that someone was watching him.

It took Jeremy only a moment to find the only person standing still.
