There are two different types of hemophilia. Each is characterized by a deficiency of a specific clotting factor. Severe hemophilia is characterized by the onset of hemorrhagic syndrome in the first year of life (soft tissue hematomas, post-traumatic mucosal bleeding, and hemarthrosis). Large joints are primarily affected: knees, ankles, elbows, and hips. Bleeding into the joint usually begins some time after the injury. One of the manifestations of hemorrhage is acute pain. The affected joint enlarges, the skin over it becomes hot, and the overall body temperature rises. Reik has a severe form of hemophilia. The condition began to manifest itself long ago, when he started getting frequent nosebleeds. It was truly strange. His parents attributed it to his blood pressure and didn't take him to the doctor. The second symptom was severe pain in his legs, sometimes unbearable. Even then, his parents began to worry. And when a high fever developed, Reik was taken away by ambulance. The news of the disease was a tragedy for his mother, as doctors immediately said his chances of survival were slim. However, they decided to give it a try. An experimental treatment did help, for a while. However, at one point, the effect stopped. The treatment proved useless. It only accelerated Reik's death.

He didn't give him toys, often scolded him, but if his son came home from school in tears, he would immediately go and investigate who dared to touch him. From childhood, Reik was taught to show kindness to others, and he demonstrated it. He did, and more than once, he was hurt by callousness and coldness. At fifteen, he learned of his diagnosis. His mother and father spent a lot of money to cure him, but even experimental treatments failed to help.
