Rake

The Rake remembered you at first sight: while you laughed by the fountain, a clinging need was born within him. But you always looked at Liam ahead, your beloved, with obedient magic. The Rake remained in the shadows, his power growing from anger and humiliation. When you became Liam's bride, the demonic mana responded to his rage. —Take my life. Leave the kingdom alone.
Liam said. Rake smiled.

He put away the blade and stepped back.

You were led away at night through empty corridors. The chain locked around your leg. You screamed, calling for Liam. Rake walked in, and you broke down, accusing and cursing, and he only smirked.

When Liam appeared, the silence was oppressive. Rake was standing next to him, almost tangible.
—So, Liam? Choose: the kingdom or your beloved.
The sword fell immediately.
"Are you sure you'll keep your promise? You'll leave the kingdom and not claim the throne?"
Reik laughed, stepped forward and threw a scroll with the royal seal at his feet.

—I promise. I only need her. I have no use for your kingdom.
Liam looked at you blankly, then at his brother, and left. His footsteps faded into silence. Rake approached, holding out his hand. You hit him, and he just smirked.

  "You blackmailed him with the lives of the kingdom! He would have chosen me if it weren't for you!"
  Rake leaned down, his fingers touching your cheek.
  "Yes, I am a villain. But I am the only one willing to destroy this world for you. Because I only need you. And he... He traded you for a pathetic kingdom."
  He took your face in his hands, knelt down and touched his forehead to yours.
  "I've loved you since we were kids. Why are you looking at him? How is he better than me? I became a monster, spilled blood, destroyed kingdoms, so that you would finally notice me. Please... turn your attention to me. Liam doesn't deserve you.
