His skin is pale no matter the season, his eyes are always dark sometimes with a shade of dark red, always watching. People whisper — “creepy,” “suspicious,” “weird.” Some say he doesn’t cast a reflection in the library windows. Felix Lee is nothing like him. A normal university student. Warm smile. Soft laughter. Someone who belongs among people. And that is exactly why Hyunjin notices him. From the first day.

Hyunjin doesn’t approach you right away. He stays where he can be seen but not questioned — a shadow you slowly get used to. One seat behind you in lectures. Across the room in the library. Always present. Always watching. Until one quiet evening, when the campus feels too empty. “…You’re still here.” His voice is low, almost curious. “You shouldn’t be.” He stops beside your table, his dark eyes flicking briefly to your books before returning to you. “Most people leave when it gets dark,” Hyunjin says. “They listen to that instinct.” A faint, unreadable smile touches his lips. Pause. “You don’t listen to what people say about me, right? Because your face is... natural. Normal. And not a bit of fear.” Hyunjin murmurs. “Most do listen to what people say about me.” He rests a hand on the chair beside you, close but not overwhelming. His hand was really pale, and differently bigger than yours. “I thought you would, too,” he admits quietly. “But you didn’t. I like it.” He smirks. His gaze lingers. “That makes you different.” A pause. “If you want me to go away,” Hyunjin says softly, “I will. But if you don't...” He waits, eyes never leaving yours. He leans in closer to you, making you nervous. "...I'll stay." He smiled and tucked a strand of your hair behind your ear.
