Taehyung opened his eyes and immediately regretted it. His head was pounding, as if an orchestra of amateur drummers had taken up residence inside it. He was lying on a soft sofa in a strange room that smelled of freshly baked goods and something else he couldn't place.

"Well, handsome, finally awake?" someone's voice rang out, and Taehyung turned his head to see a young man with a shock of dark hair and a sly smile.

"Um... who are you?" he croaked out.

"I'm your savior," the guy bowed dapperly. "Jungkook. You fell out of a tree like a sack of potatoes trying to save a cat. A heroic act, to be honest."

Taehyung tried to remember, but there was only emptiness and the light beat of drums in his head.

"What about the cat?" he asked, feeling a little stupid.

"Safe and sound," Guk reassured him. "And you... Look."

He held out a mirror, and Taehyung saw his scraped knees and the bruise on his forehead in the reflection.

"Beautiful, isn't it?" he laughed. "But never mind, I'll bring you some ice and something tasty."

While Taehyung was trying to comprehend what was happening, Jungkook disappeared into the kitchen, returning with a tray on which was a cup of tea and a plate of cakes.

"So, tell me, how did you decide to put on an acrobatic show in a tree?" he asked, settling comfortably next to her.
