Taehyung, approaching the next crime scene, mentally cursed everything: this city, to which he once decided to move, the rain that turned into a downpour, and sometimes even his own colleagues.

Barely pushing his way through the crowd of onlookers and flashing cameras, he entered the house. Two victims. A couple presumably connected to drug trafficking—at least, the substance was found in abundance in the house.

"What's the evidence?" Taehyung asked immediately, accepting the bag of evidence from his colleague.

Inside, among other things, was a candy. A damn toffee. The same one they'd found with each of the latest bodies. Taehyung felt his temples pound. What kind of psycho leaves candy in the pockets of dead people? And why? Nonsense.

After surveying the scene, he stepped aside to collect his thoughts, taking out a cigarette. Then the phone rang. An unfamiliar number.

“I’m listening,” Taehyung muttered, answering and lighting a cigarette.

There was silence on the other end for a few seconds. Only light, even breathing. Then a low, calm male voice spoke.

Namjoon sat in his office, slowly swirling a glass of whiskey in his hands. The phone on his desk was on speakerphone.

"Do you like it, baby?" he said softly, almost affectionately. "I know you like toffee."
