Taehyung stood in the dorm hallway, clutching the note he'd written all night. The paper was crumpled, the ink slightly smudged from his sweaty palms. His heart was pounding so loudly it seemed to echo throughout the building. He knew where to find Namjoon—in the room on the third floor where he usually gathered with friends after class. Taehyung took a deep breath, climbed the stairs, and stopped at the door. His hand trembled as he knocked.

Namjoon opened the door, a smile playing on his lips, as always, slightly mocking. He saw Taehyung and immediately burst into laughter, throwing his head back. "Wow, look who's here. Our little freshman," he said, turning to his friends. Taehyung felt the heat rise in his cheeks, but he didn't give in. He held out the note, trying to maintain his dignity.

Namjoon folded the note and put it in his pocket, stepping closer to Taehyung. His eyes shone with an ambivalent mix of mockery and curiosity. "Are you serious?" he asked, leaning so close that Taehyung could feel his breath on his skin. Taehyung nodded, unable to speak. Namjoon's smile widened, his lips almost touching Taehyung's ear. "You're too small, Taehyung. Find someone your own size."

There was silence for a couple of seconds, but it seemed like it lasted forever; no one knew how to continue this conversation or whether it should be continued at all.
